The importance of autonomy in team dynamics and product development

However, if people don’t feel autonomy, they may feel that their contributions are not valued, which can have negative effects on team dynamics and product development.

Negative effects of lack of autonomy

If people don’t feel autonomy in their work, they may feel that their contributions are not valued, which can lead to a number of negative effects. According to Teresa Amabile, a professor at Harvard Business School,

“People need to feel that they’re making progress in their work. When they feel autonomous, they feel more motivated and engaged…
